National University of Singapore – Queenstown Job Description The National University of Singapore (NUS) Department of the Built Environment (DBE) invites applications for one Research Assistant in Construction Automation with a focus on workflow optimisation and automation for lean and sustainable construction.
The successful applicant will be working with Assistant Professor Dr.
Jinying Xu (/) in the Cognition X Project lab (/) which endeavours to advance the cognitive intelligence in project management.
The successful applicant will work on semantic alignment, level-of-automation assessment, and operational co-optimisation for human-machine collaboration in construction and engineering projects leveraging digital technologies.
The position is initially two years and subject to extension to four years.
Job Requirements Minimum qualification: at least a Bachelor degree with Honours (Distinction) in relevant fields including civil engineering, construction technology and engineering, construction management, mechanical engineering, etc.
Committed to conduct Ph D-level research.
Proficient in conducting innovative scientific research with impact.
Proficient in scientific writing and oral communication in English.
Ability to work with colleagues of different background, as well as conduct pilot study on construction sites.
Familiar with construction workflows and optimisation algorithms.
Ability to code, modelling and simulation.
Eager to learn new research technique and skills.
