Job Description About the Centre for Research in Health Systems Performance (CRi HSP)Optimizing health system performance is essential for ensuring the wellbeing and longevity of populations worldwide. Singapore is well positioned to lead research in this field, with its health system consistently ranked among the best globally based on independent evaluations and the Global Burden of Disease data. The new Centre for Research in Health Systems Performance (CRi HSP) aims to advance research within the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS), establishing itself as the leading health systems research centre in Asia. Its core functions include: Research: empirical and methodological research and evidence synthesis on health systems performance, focusing on Value-Based Healthcare. Health policy intelligence: impact analysis aimed at policymakers, service providers, researchers, and the public. Capacity building: postgraduate programs (certificates to Ph D), fellowships, mentoring, and training. Improving NUHS performance: providing expert advice on flagship initiatives like Healthier SG, and program evaluation. The multidisciplinary team includes health services and policy researchers, data scientists, social scientists, and administrators. Collaborations extend to the Department of Family Medicine at NUHS, the Centre for Sustainable Medicine (Co SM), the Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Sciences Interventions (BISI), and others. Duties and Responsibilities The Research Associate will: Manage research activities, including grant and IRB/DSRB applications, budgeting, planning, monitoring timelines, and liaising with stakeholders. Conduct literature reviews, including synthesis of findings. Support design and interpretation of surveys, interviews, and focus groups. Contribute to and lead (where appropriate) protocol, manuscript, and report writing, editing, and submission. Present work at workshops or conferences locally and internationally. The role requires flexibility as the capacity of CRi HSP evolves. NUS offers competitive remuneration, including salary, benefits, and potential travel support for conferences. The position is full-time for one year, depending on project needs and candidate aspirations. Qualifications Applicants will be evaluated based on: Masters in Life Sciences, Health, or Social Sciences. Experience Experience managing healthcare research projects using qualitative and/or quantitative data, from conception to completion, in a university setting. Track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals is desirable. Applicants with research related to Value-Based Healthcare, patient-reported outcomes, or patient experiences are encouraged to apply. Skills and Attributes Strong written and spoken English communication skills. Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams. Problem-solving skills and capacity to manage complex issues. Excellent organizational and project management skills with attention to detail. Ability to work with diverse populations.
