We now seek a Research Scientist/ Senior Research Scientist to join the team of Prof. Ashok Venkitaraman. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a world-leading cancer researcher to undertake pioneering research on the role of genome instability in human carcinogenesis (eg., see Venkitaraman Science (2014) PMID:24675954 and Venkitaraman DNA Repair (2019) PMID:31337537). Please refer to https://csi.nus.edu.sg/researcher/ashok-venkitaraman/ for more information on Professor Ashok Venkitaraman’s research For this position, we would require a post-doctoral fellow to engage in designing and running of multiple CRISPR genome screens, to interrogate and identify genes that are responsible for a host of different genome instability phenomenon uncovered in our lab in human carcinogenesis We are looking for highly motivated individuals with the ability to work in a team environment. Genuine enthusiasm for science, willingness to think beyond established concepts and to try and learn new experimental and analysis tools. Duties And Responsibilities Laboratory skills:• Required experience with CRISPR gene editing and screens• Required experience with mammalian cell culture• Required experience with molecular cloning and biochemical analyses (q PCR, Western, co-IP, etc.)• Good to have experience in high-throughput sequencing and data analysis (RNAseq etc.)Qualifications• Ph D in biology or related fields• Strong track record of research achievement evidenced by high-quality publications in a relevant field• High-level experience in hands-on use of a wide range of relevant research methods• Skills in working independently and creatively to solve experimental problems• Effective communication and presentation skills, with experience in communicating scientific work including scientific papers, presentations and reports.
