Mō tetūnga | About the role

Our Child and Family Safety Service, Tiaki Whānau, is a multidisciplinary team providing a specialistservice for tamariki (children) and rangatahi (young people).

Based at the ChristchurchHospital campus our team is divided into a variety of workstreams including theViolence Intervention Programme, Sexual Abuse Team, Gateway and Infant to Teenassessments. Our Integrated SafetyResponse team is currently based at Hillmorton Hospital. 

This role is based in the Gatewayworkstream for tamariki and rangatahi who have experienced trauma. 

Ko wai koe | About You

Youwill be responsible for co-ordinating comprehensive health assessments onreferred tamariki and rangatahi, gathering information from a number of externalagencies to support the compilation a final report with recommendations andreferrals to appropriate agencies.

Thiscan be a challenging area to work within and your high degree of resilience andability to communicate with a wide variety of people will be imperative.

Youwill require expert knowledge working within the area of Child Health, able tofunction autonomously and collaboratively, have excellent proven communicationand interpersonal skills, and be computer literate.

Thoroughknowledge of health systems and external agencies is an advantage.

Hold a relevant Post Graduate qualification or working towards same
NZ Registered Nurse with current Annual Practising Certificate or NZ Registered Social Worker
