Mō te tūnga| About the role The East Adult Community Psychiatric Service has anexciting opportunity for a registered nurse with mental health experience tojoin their community team. East Sector provides an assessment and treatmentservice for tāngata whaiora (consumers)experiencing mental illnesses and works closely with their whānau (family) - both in the community and alongsideinpatient services.  Pehea | AboutYou As a professional and highly motivated nurse, whodisplays a positive attitude and enthusiasm for this area of work, you willenjoy being part of a committed and diverse multi-disciplinary team, you willwork in collaboration with a group of professionals that recognises theimportance of providing quality care and services to their patients, friendsand whānau. Interacting with a variety of stakeholders, youwill have an ability to effectively manage and prioritise a caseload in thiscase management position.Visit tāngata whaiora in the community, where you will complete home visits or see them in NGO supported residential services or support them on the ward as they transition from inpatient to outpatient care. Refer and support your tāngata whaiora to engage with community services and resources and assist them in developing and progressing along individual tailored treatment plans.Support and assist those in your care with their treatment and medication regimes.Complete assessments alongside psychiatrists and draw on the knowledge from the variety of different professional backgrounds in your team to provide the best possible holistic care.Respond to crises when they occur - this involves conducting risk assessments, connecting with whānau, coordinating logistics, and working with your team to ensure the most appropriate intervention for your tāngata whaiora.1 FTE permanent position availableMonday to Fridays, either 0800hr - 1630hr OR 0830hr - 1700hr Ngā pūkengame ngā wheako | Skills and experience In order to be successful in this role, the following is required:Registered with the Nursing Council of NewZealand with a current APC and mental health scope2+ years - experience working within any area ofmental health Have a full New Zealand driver - s licenseKnowledge of and a commitment to Te Tiriti oWaitangiPrevious experience in an acute mental healthsetting Excellent interpersonal skills and relationshipbuildingThrives in a fast-paced environment in a variedrole Ngā   hua | Benefits of working at Te Whatu Ora (Health New Zealand) When you work at the Te Whatu Ora, you are part of a wider whānau that will support you along your journey.
