Health Care Assistant – Medical Ward Southland Hospital Salary Band – $58,100 - $68,300 p.a. pro-rata + Kiwisaver + carpark Career development opportunities Permanent 1.0 FTE position (40 hours per week) Competitive salary + paid overtime Mo te turanga | About the role As Health Care Assistant you will be involved in: Supporting our nurses and other members of the healthcare team Patient supervision and/or movement Stock reconciliation Ward maintenance Patient cares, as required Becoming a Healthcare assistant in the health sector is a great opportunity to: Use your caring and empathetic nature in your work Receive on the job training and support Gain a NZQA Level 2 or Level 3 certificate (Health and Wellbeing for Hospitals and Health Sector) Fees are fully funded Mou ake | About you We are seeking applications from those with previous health care experience, and from those who are dynamic, friendly and can demonstrate a high level of initiative. You will be committed to high standards of practice, be well organised and have excellent communication skills. It is important that candidates are motivated, flexible, have a level of maturity about them and of course plenty of enthusiasm. Experience working with people in a caring capacity is also essential, whether than experience is gained from within a professional environment, or from caring for children or family members. Our induction includes a two-day training programme to ensure you are fully equipped to under the role as a valuable part of the team.
