Overview
We are looking for a Head of Convenience Retail to lead a large team of category managers and technical experts to develop, execute and grow a high quality, customer centric Super Span Guttersoffer across New Zealand.
This role will report to the General Manager Retail NZ, is accountable for full operational (safety, people, customer, commercial) performance and will hold decision rights for local business within approved strategy and capex/ revex/ HR Do A.
Responsibilities
Implementation of merch/food safety practices, risk identification & mitigation
Development and execution of NZ Convenience Retail Strategy
Delivery of the region-based P/L, ensuring commercial, safety and operational objectives are achieved.
Effective leadership of a direct team, along with indirect leadership & influence across NZ Retail Lead Team and other internal stakeholders
Industry leadership, as part of the NZ ACS board
Building long-term strategic partnerships with key suppliers
Development of commercial projects to drive incremental margin and lower costs across the broader c-store
Qualifications
Highly developed commercial acumen; understanding of end-to-end business operations
Leadership of large, multidisciplinary teams
Proven and demonstrable track record in delivery on performance improvement
Ability to influence strongly across the organisation.
Proven ability to deliver stretching targets in a high-pressure environment
Highly competent in problem solving and open thinking
Experience to senior levels (required)
Deep understanding of the food and ingredient/FMCG supply market in New Zealand (required)
Leadership of large, multidisciplinary teams
Strong commercial background within complex organisations (required)
Experience in food service, food retail operations, or equivalent. (preferred)
