This role will support the Team Manager Risk Reporting & Climate and the wider Risk & Reporting & Analytics (RRA) team to provide second line Risk Management advice, support, guidance, challenge and across all SNZ entities. Your key areas of focus will include: Assisting with and leading the preparation and continuous improvement of SNZ second-line risk reports (including extraction and aggregation of data) Supporting ongoing delivery of SNZ Chief Risk Office (CRO) oversight using a Data Analytics (DA) lens Supporting, challenging, and encouraging SNZ entities to optimise operation within and risk appetite Supporting the team in delivery of climate risk related reporting and risk management practice Partnering with first line risk and the business as a trusted advisor and advocate for robust risk maturity and culture Assisting in the development and implementation of appropriate risk policies, procedures, and management frameworks for SNZ Supporting and delivering risk related training for the New Zealand businesses, 1LoD risk advisers, CRO team, and other key stakeholders Providing advice to the business based on insights derived from internal and external data trends and forecasts What you'll need to succeed Excellent written and verbal skills Drive to self-manage and to support colleagues across the team to meet collective deliverables Proven technical skills and practical experience in consolidating risk data/ information from multiple sources within structured and constrained timeframes Good interpersonal skills and the ability to explain technical information to non-subject matter experts Relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Law or Finance Relevant experience in risk, or compliance management, preferably in financial services or insurance Broad commercial experience at senior levels in either a corporate and/or professional services environment Ability to provide sound advice, guidance, oversight, and challenge to relevant stakeholders Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend and support changes to be made for effective implementation Ability to make effective decisions in a timely manner and to escalate as appropriate What we can offer you: Free life, salary continuance and trauma insurance cover Discounts on Asteron Life, Vero, Southern Cross medical insurance Flexible leave, starts at 2 days per year in addition to annual leave Positive, inclusive team environment where we welcome individuality and celebrate diversity Flexible work arrangements embracing a healthy work/life balance $250 annually for flexible benefits Ongoing learning and development opportunities Opportunity to join the employee share plan We are proud to be a part of the Suncorp Group family alongside some of Australia and New Zealand's most trusted names in insurance – working together to bring about faster, simpler and better outcomes for our customers and corporate partners.
