Mō te tūranga mahi | About the role
The Wellbeing, Health and Safety strategy takes a holistic view to workplace wellbeing and our approach includes every layer of ACC, our people, our work, our relationships and our environment.
This role will sit at the heart of this mahi, working closely alongside our broader WHS team to deliver great outcomes across the organisation. The role will have a key focus on providing frontline wellbeing support across all functions and teams, delivering innovative programmes and initiatives that enhance and add to the overall wellbeing of our people.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with enterprise leaders and senior managers to provide wellbeing support, coaching, education and leadership to kaimahi and leaders, aligned with our strategy, Huakina Te Rā.
Provide front-line support to kaimahi and leaders and partner with external clinical teams to provide mental health advice and interventions as needed.
Develop and lead health and wellbeing initiatives in support of our strategy.
Partner with our external wellbeing providers to deliver great outcomes for our kaimahi.
Work collaboratively with other team members, and the wider People and Capability Group, to ensure a consistent and aligned approach to wellbeing, health and safety.
Deliver engaging wellbeing training and presentations, and communicate effectively to build capability across the organisation.
Minimise workplace injuries through proactive injury management and delivery of injury prevention initiatives.
Support leaders to build wellbeing thinking into the design of work.
Support our data-driven approach through reporting and research.
Provide advice to business groups on the management and mitigation of health and wellbeing risks.
Mōu | About you
Significant experience in providing wellbeing advice and support at a senior level within a large and complex organisation.
The ability to triage and respond to mental health issues.
Demonstrated expertise in current wellbeing, health and safety practice, including knowledge and application of relevant legislation, contemporary thinking and emerging trends.
Tertiary qualification in social work, counselling or related discipline or a minimum of five years’ experience in an equivalent wellbeing role.
Competency in tikanga Māori and te reo Māori would be advantageous.
Ability to influence managers and employees at all levels to adopt wellbeing, health and safety practices.
Ability to work without close supervision, demonstrate initiative and exercise sound judgement and decision making.
Effective problem-solving approach, risk management and analytical skills.
Ability to prioritise, plan and co-ordinate activities and resources to achieve required objectives.
Excellent communication skills.

The base salary range for this role is $101,287 - $125 K with appointment depending on skills and experience with a generous 9% super contribution.
