The Role:
They are strengthening their sales and leadership team and seek to appoint a sales manager, who will be responsible fordriving company growth, while mentoring and empowering a regionally based sales team.
This is a hands-on role, that can be described as aSelling Sales Managementrole, as the role responsibilities will be divided between business development andsales team leadership. It will suit someone who enjoys being out seeing new and existing customers, as well as guiding and mentoring their team of 4, to deliver sales growth on their portfolios.
Reporting into the GM the role will include:
Provide leadership to a field-based sales team, mentoring and guiding them.
Facilitating regular sales meetings, sharing successes, achievements and areas that need support
Co-calling customers, with sales team members. Providing feedback and support where needed.
Ensure team maintains expected levels of activity & KPI accountability
Identify skill or knowledge gaps & provide training & support
Share strategies to improve sales processes & reduce performance barriers
Helps team plan strategies to identify and create business development opportunities.
Promote company processes, ensure the team upholds client service standards and company values
At all times being a trusted team sounding board. Working through areas of difficulty or escalations.
Manage the relationships of specific key accounts
Perform targeted business development, with targeted end user clients, that fall into theJanitorial, PPE, Hygiene & Healthcare industries.
Ensure the development of strong, mutually beneficial commercial customerrelationships.
Become a valued member of the senior leadership team,
Assisting in the development of new markets
About You:
Hands on leadership style. Strong motivator and mentor
Experience in mentoring salespeople across all facets of the sales process. (Minimum 3 + years)
Maintains confidentiality and builds trust. Team members feel comfortable sharing personal challenges
Proven experience in new business acquisition. Enthusiasm to perform business development activities and achieve personal sales targets.
Strives for productivity, continued improvement and best practice in team and oneself
Ability to make decisions and contribute to the commercial success of the company
Strong communicator, with high level relationship building skills
Supports management decisions and promotes them, at all times
Share company’s growth vision and will strive to achieve growth targets
Able to travel nationally
Preferred industry background: Janitorial, Hygiene, Safety, Aged care, FMCG, Packaging, Food Service & Food Manufacturing.
And / Or experience with Office Max, NXP, Bidfood, Mitre10 or Bunnings or other large distribution sales channels
