As the Community Development Lead for the Home Ground Apartments (HGA), you will play a pivotal role in shaping a resilient and thriving community. Your primary responsibility will be to build strong partnerships across HGA, the Mission community, and the wider local community. You will champion rangatiratanga and active participation, enhancing the overall wellbeing of individuals and the HGA community as a whole through a whānau-led approach. Reporting to the Supportive Services Manager and collaborating closely with the wider Supportive Housing Team, your knowledge will be crucial in driving our vision of a connected and empowered community. Duties Provide empowerment to the Home Ground Apartment (HGA) community to enhance their wellbeing. Establish engagement and partnerships in support of the community to find their own solutions and build social connectedness. Develop, coordinate, and implement community initiatives and programmes that enhance community wellbeing and are aligned with community needs. Support tenants to become active participants of the HGA community and identify their vision for the future. Collaborate with the leadership of the organisation, role model a culture that embeds the Mission’s values of Manaakitanga, Atawhai, Rangapū and Manatika/Mana Orite and demonstrates through actions commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Provide policy and planning advice as well as evaluative reports to the Supportive Services Manager, to support business planning, evidence impact and to ensure practices are ethical, consistent with best practice, and meet legislative requirements. Skills Tertiary Study in Community Development, Social Sciences, Humanities or similar & full clean New Zealand Drivers Licence. Management experience in building and co-creating diverse communities within Aotearoa. Commitment to embodying the principles of Te Titiriti o Waitangi in organisational practice. Demonstrate an applied understanding of community development models especially asset-based community development (ABCD). Ability to use a range of project management techniques to design and deliver to plan, and evidence outcomes.
