Mo te tunga | About the role You will provide robust analysis and advice through engagement with internal and external stakeholders, to assist with the development and management of the NZ Army's conceptual and strategic work streams.

You will be responsible for: * Undertaking strategic environmental analysis to support NZ Army and NZDF initiatives.

* Providing recommendations that will support the Army's strategic direction.

* Conducting horizon scanning and future-casting activities.

* Shaping the behaviours and perceptions of Senior Army Leadership.

* Building and maintaining strategic working relationships with stakeholders.

* Being prepared to represent the NZ Army at both international and domestic forums, conferences, and industry engagement.

This role is based in Defence House, Wellington.

Once you have undergone training and are up to speed, there is the option of working from home up to 2 days a week.

Please Note: The formal title for this role within NZDF is Senior Forecasting Analyst.

Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, you will come from an analytical background and be comfortable working independently.

Your experience will have you providing sound judgement to identify, understand and manage various strategic and conceptual opportunities.

You will need to have: * Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

* The ability to establish, influence and capitalise on effective relationships and networks.

* The ability to translate complex information into well-articulated content.

* A sounds working knowledge of analytical forecasting and modelling tools.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows: Higher level Security Clearance * most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR * is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.
