Registered Nurse – Hutt Valley (Feb/March 2026 start)

Whānau Āwhina Plunket is seeking a Registered Nurse to work in Hutt Valley in a permanent full‑time Monday‑Friday role beginning Feb/March 2026. The salary band is $66,222 – $94,842 based on experience.

Is 2026 your time to make a change? Join us as a Registered Nurse in a proactive primary health role. We provide a 6‑week orientation with ongoing preceptor support to help you find your feet.

You will meet whānau (both home visits and in clinics) and foster trusting relationships to deliver holistic, culturally appropriate care. Community nursing involves balancing clinical responsibilities with social support during a cost‑of‑living crisis, ensuring safe and healthy homes for children.
About you

Community nursing requires resourcefulness, resilience, and decisive action under variable demands. Exceptional active listening, tactful questioning, and the ability to build trust across diverse families are essential. Being an authorised vaccinator is advantageous.
Skills and Qualifications
Be a Registered Nurse
Hold or be able to obtain an Annual Practicing Certificate
Undergo a Ministry of Justice Check
Hold a full clean NZ Drivers Licence
Be committed to completing a 12‑month Post‑Graduate Certificate in Well Child Tamariki ora (cost covered) What we offer
