Description
We are looking for a part-time, fixed term motivated senior dentist who is a team player, has wide clinical experience, good operative skills, exceptional in communication, keen to support and grow staff and the service.
You will be responsible for the delivery of quality oral health care throughout the service in Wellington and Kenepuru Hospitals. In the role you will also be providing clinical support and assistance to Dental House Surgeons, supporting current SMO dentists and the Clinical Leader.
As a senior dental officer, you will be known to be someone who is approachable and willing to share your knowledge and experience with others. You will have experience in handling varied caseloads of patients requiring a range of treatments.
Mō tō mātou rōpū – About our team
The Dental and Oral Health Service provides dental care for many patients across two sites (Wellington and Kenepuru Hospitals) and while working with us you will have the opportunity to experience the different patient mix at both locations. You will be interacting with patients who require admission for their dental care, children, patients who have suffered acute trauma, and patients who require essential dental treatment as part of their medical or surgical treatment. You will also see low-income individuals who are in pain.
Our team of 37 consists of senior dentists/ oral medicine & oral surgery specialists/ house surgeons (who provide on call)/ clinical and dental technicians/ receptionists/ dental assistants/ booking clerk and registered nurse.
The Dental and Oral Health Service is operational Monday- Friday from 8am to 4.30pm. On call house surgeons rostered outside of daily operational clinics.
Moū – About you
Bachelor of Dental Surgery or equivalent
Current annual practicing certificate with the Dental Council of New Zealand
Current Indemnity cover
Post Graduate qualifications with specialties would be advantageous
Relevant experience and training
Minimal 5 years recent experience post-graduation
