We are looking for a self-motivated and passionate Senior Investigator who is eager to take the next step in their career and be part of a dynamic, hardworking team in a fast-paced environment. The team sits within Te Whakatairanga Service Delivery for the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment and are tasked with preventing and responding to immigration related offending and non-compliance. Bring your investigation skills, knowledge and experience to an immigration setting Be part of a supportive and welcoming team, working in a modern and comfortable environment You will be exposed to a variety of immigration related investigations throughout New Zealand You will be part of a cohesive and collaborative team making a positive difference to Immigration New Zealand You will undertake training to become a warranted Immigration Officer We offer the ability to grow your career in a supportive environment MBIE supports a range of flexible working arrangements Skills and Experience Required Experience in leading, planning and / or undertaking complex criminal investigations and prosecutions, including fraud, in a team environment Ability to support vulnerable complainants through the investigation and prosecution process Excellent communication skills, ability to manage risk and maintain confidentiality with sensitive issues Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and supervise in a team environment Sound understanding and application of NZ legislation in investigation and prosecution processes e.g. Criminal Procedures Act, Rules of Evidence, Bill of Rights, Official Information & Privacy Acts and Crimes Act etc. Demonstrated planning and organising skills including the ability to maintain a high level of performance when under pressure A demonstrated knowledge and application of modern investigation techniques including the use of IT software e.g. computer forensics Proven ability to develop trust and credibility with managers and fellow staff Tertiary qualification, preferably in law enforcement, and/or comparable relevant experience in investigation and prosecution related work The ability to gain and maintain a national security clearance as required For your application to be considered, you must be either a New Zealand citizen or hold a New Zealand permanent residency class visa.
