Due to an internal staff movement we have a permanent, full‐time opportunity available for a Service Manager to join our Tauranga‐based Service team working a Monday to Friday 45‐hour week.
This branch leadership role is integral to the ongoing success of Penske New Zealand and we are therefore looking for someone who has the energy to exceed and deliver results.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, your primary responsibilities will be to lead and mentor a motivated service team, to monitor and improve key performance measures in labour utilisation, WIP, warranty processes, and debtors while enhancing the customer experience and value offered within all aspects of the Service Department.
Job Functions Drive an ongoing improvement culture in safety, quality and productivity for the Service Department.
Set expectations and mentor the team to achieve a 10/10 customer service culture.
Meet and exceed annual financial operating targets for revenue, gross margin and expenses.
Ensure that efficiencies in operation are achieved and monitored, quality work is produced and customer needs are satisfied.
Provide effective communication to the team on daily and weekly basis via toolbox meetings.
Oversee all recruitment activity and the quarterly development check‐ins of all employees for the Service Department.
Be responsible for all assets and liabilities within the Service department and ensure custody, control and maintenance procedures are followed.
Develop and enhance customer relations with both existing and potential customer base.
About You We are seeking a professional, passionate, engaging and resilient individual who has proven ability in successfully managing, developing and motivating a team.
A minimum of three years of leadership experience within a service environment, ideally within the light or heavy automotive industry is preferred.

You will pride yourself in being a strong communicator with meticulous attention to detail.
