What you will do
As a Software Engineer, you will develop the next generation of precision farming technology while ensuring the stability and growth of existing technologies. You will develop cutting-edge computing technology that increases the productivity of farmers and helps reduce the use of fuel and chemicals.
You'll be exposed to a wide range of technologies; our products contain everything from GPS Tracking and high accuracy positioning to OpenGL 3D graphics, real-time control systems, and vehicle robotics. Working within an Agile development environment, you'll also gain exposure to API and library design, vehicle network technologies, complex systems using multiple sensors or devices, GNSS based navigation, autonomous / semi-autonomous vehicle control.
Key Responsibilities
Create and extend the systems and modules of new precision agriculture GNSS receiver and control system products.
Develop embedded software targeting Linux, Android, and RTOS platforms.
Size and break work down into the engineering tasks to be performed.
Document design and implementation.
Be proactive at diagnosing & identifying problems. Work with quality assurance personnel to plan and execute product regression, unit and functional testing.
Support good development practice and processes, ensuring code is reviewed and stored in source control system (GIT), defects and change requests are logged in the issue tracking system (JIRA), project information and general items of interest are published in shared resources (Confluence).
Actively contribute to continuous improvement of products and processes.
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
Solid foundation in software engineering with experience of embedded firmware development in C and C++
Object-oriented design patterns and development skills
Knowledge and experience with real-time multi-threaded operating systems with an emphasis on Linux.
Knowledge of microprocessors and microcontrollers architecture, compilers and debuggers
Self-managed, self-starter able to work independently in a rapidly changing environment
Collaborative team player with a willingness to collaborate in cross-site groups
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with all team members
Python scripting, test automation, Java Android Development (helpful but not essential)
