Key responsibilities: Design and analyse bridge structures, ensuring compliance with NZ standards and codes.
Oversee the delivery of new bridge construction projects from concept to completion.
Develop repair strategies for existing structures and supervise construction.
Conduct inspections, assessments and maintenance planning for existing bridge assets.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, local government and other stakeholders.
Provide technical advice and solutions to address complex engineering challenges.
Prepare project documentation, including detailed reports, cost estimates, and risk assessments.
Planning, invoicing, general administration, safety planning.
Travel is required, 3-4 nights a month, more during the summer months, predominantly around the South Island but the North Island occasionally.
Key requirements: A bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering.
Proven experience with a focus on bridges.
CPEng status or closely approaching that.
Proficiency in structural design software and tools (Brics Cad, Quik Frame, Strap, various design aids) Familiarity with NZ standards, including AS/NZS 5100 and NZTA requirements.
Corrosion knowledge would be an advantage.
Absolutely trustworthy.
Sharp focus on Health & Safety.

Contract management knowledge an advantage.
Full NZ Driver’s License, preferably clean.
Physically fit and capable.
