The Surgical Tech at Brigham and Women's Hospital plays an important role in the operating room, responsible for preparing and maintaining the environment and assisting with peri-operative patient care. They work closely with surgeons and nurses to ensure smooth operations. A strong understanding of sterile techniques and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential. Qualifications

Education and Experience requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program. Current Surgical Technologist Certification is required within one year of graduation or if employed before July 1, 2013. Alternatively, certification can be obtained through military or U. S. Public Health Service training programs.
• Graduates without certification have one year from graduation to obtain it.
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting required.

Preferred experience:

• Associate degree preferred.
• Four (4) years' experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting preferred. Leadership experience is also preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
