We are hiring an Engineering Manager for the Boot Stack team, which designs, builds, and operates modern distributed systems on private infrastructure for customers, working with technologies like Kubernetes and Open Stack. This role involves managing engineers overseeing day-to-day managed services, customer service, operations, and product improvements, requiring collaboration with customers, product engineering, and operations.
Location: This is a globally remote role.
Responsibilities include:

Manage a growing engineering team to optimize development and operations quality and velocity.
Identify and measure team health indicators.
Implement disciplined engineering and operations processes.
Represent the Boot Stack team with stakeholders, customers, and external teams.
Ensure team focus on priorities, milestones, and deliverables.
Meet service level agreements with global customer deployments.
Deliver quality managed services consistently and timely.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's (or equivalent) in a technology field.
Proven experience in software delivery using Python, Go, C, C++, Java, or managing operations teams.
Experience with Open Stack.
Strong commitment to testing methodologies and maintainable code.
Linux system administration experience; Ubuntu/Debian preferred.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience with agile methodologies.
Experience managing distributed teams.
Technical understanding of complex distributed systems.
Knowledge of cloud topologies and technologies.
Willingness to travel approximately 20% or less.
