Are you passionate about cyber security, data governance, and information security?We are looking for a skilled Information Security Analyst to join our Media Works team in Auckland.
This is a key technical role reporting to the Network & Information Security Manager.
You will be responsible for supporting the organisation's core cybersecurity, privacy, and data governance initiatives.
You will be instrumental in maintaining a strong security posture, providing logistical support to traditional networking functions, and ensuring our operations are compliant and resilient.
What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)You will manage a diverse range of security and compliance activities, including hands-on administration and strategic risk management: Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments in line with the NZ Privacy Act's IPPs.
Perform vendor risk assessments and propose suitable controls.
Data Governance & AI Risk: Drive data governance initiatives, focusing on data identification, classification, and labelling practices.
Cloud & Security Operations: Assist with cloud security control validation across cloud and Saa S platforms.
Provide hands-on administration support for security tools, including vulnerability management and XDR.
Compliance & Awareness: Support compliance efforts for the NZ Privacy Act and NIST CSF 2.0.
Incident Response & Support: Support security investigations, triage events, and document incident reports under senior guidance.
Collaborate on software patching and infrastructure hardware upgrades.
What You'll Bring Relevant tertiary IT qualification (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems).3 years of experience facilitating SOC/SIEM administration or as a SOC Analyst.2-3 years of experience with cybersecurity technologies like XDR, mail and web filtering.
Working knowledge of the NZ Privacy Act's IPPs and their practical application.
Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional and confident verbal and written communication.
A collaborative team player who is a self-starter and detail-oriented.
