Position Overview: The Surgical Tech at Brigham and Women's Hospital plays an important role in the operating room, responsible for preparing and maintaining the operating environment and assisting with peri-operative patient care. They collaborate closely with surgeons and nurses to ensure smooth operations. Candidates should have a strong understanding of sterile techniques and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, energetic, and collaborative environment.

Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program (see substitution options below).
- Current Surgical Technologist Certification is required within one year of graduation or if employed as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility before July 1, 2013, or if completed military or U. S. Public Health Service training programs.
- Graduates without certification have one year from graduation to obtain certification.
Preferred Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist in an Operating Room or Ambulatory Surgery setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
