The Principal IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing IT systems for Launch and Launch Operations
The role is located at the Auckland Production Complex

Responsibilities
• Lead and be responsible for the design and implementation of IT systems related to Launch and Launch Operations
• Manage and support highly reliable and available IT systems
• Lead project scoping, planning, and deployment for launch infrastructure and new site commissioning projects
• Champion the Launch IT Infrastructure Standards at Rocket Lab
• Work with a team of IT, engineering, and business professionals
Requirements
• 15+ years of experience in IT
• 10+ years of experience in an IT Engineer role
• Advanced problem solving and analytical skills
• In-depth knowledge of at least one of: AWS and/or O365 & Azure enterprise environments
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, VMware, Linux, Windows, Configuration Management, Automation, Infrastructure as Code
• Knowledge of Server and Storage hardware, Backups, HA DR BC, Active Directory, Group Policy, Certificate Management, DNS, DHCP
• Knowledge of Juniper or Cisco network switching and firewall setup
• Knowledge of Security frameworks/technology such as ISO 27001, NIST 800-171, IPSEC, SSL VPNs, firewalls
• Specialist qualification in area of expertise preferred
