The opportunity - Te tūranga In this role you will: Work on a core enabling project of our transformation programme which is focused on enhancing our data, analytics, and AI capability to drive transformation of our processes and systems. Join our Programme team and work on the Data Change Project as a highly skilled Test Engineer. Be responsible for overseeing all aspects of software testing, quality control, and release to ensure a seamless and successful outcome for the programme. Work in a fast-paced delivery environment, demonstrating proven experience in this area. This is a 9-month fixed-term contract. To be successful in this role, you will need the following: Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in software testing, with experience of testing in the context of Data Platforms or Data Products preferred, including relational database concepts. A very strong technical background in building automation testing frameworks. Experience with the following testing types: Regression, Integration, Functional & Non-Functional, UAT. Experience working in a cloud data platform environment such as Databricks or Snowflake. An intermediary level of SQL or Python coding experience is a plus. Experience with at least one test automation framework and a track record of applying test automation at scale, including experience with Test Automation tools such as Selenium and Cucumber. Developed and maintained a comprehensive test strategy and plan; executed effective test cases/test scripts to ensure the reliability of data ingestion and transformation processes. Acted as a quality gatekeeper, ensuring all test cases are passed before going into production and performance test cases are executed. Collaborated with Vendor teams to agree on governance processes. Conducted root cause analysis for defects and issues.
