Surgical Tech - Operating Room
Position Summary: We offer three levels within the surgical technologist career ladder. The Surgical Tech at Brigham and Women's Hospital plays a vital role in the operating room, responsible for preparing and maintaining the environment and assisting with peri-operative patient care. They collaborate closely with surgeons and nurses to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program (see substitution details below)
- Current Surgical Technologist Certification required within one year of graduation, or if employed as a surgical technologist before July 1, 2013, or completed military or U. S. Public Health Service training in surgical technology (per MA Senate Bill 2058, December 2012)
- Graduates without certification have one year from program completion to obtain certification
Preferred Experience
- At least 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist in an Operating Room or Ambulatory Surgery
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
