Fulfil the role of lecturer in the Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Social Work (Honours), and other School of Education and Social Sciences programmes and courses as required.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $80,000 and $85,000, dependent on skills and experience.
The Lecturer in Social Work is based in our EIT | Te Pūkenga team reporting to the Head of School, Mātauranga, Pāpori me te Whare Tiaki Kararehe and will be responsible for: Curriculum and Teaching : Prepare and update course curricula, develop materials, and utilize modern teaching strategies to enhance student learning.
Student Support and Well-being : Assist students, provide practical learning opportunities, and liaise with support services to ensure their well-being.
Assessment and Evaluation : Conduct evaluations, provide feedback, and oversee moderation processes to maintain academic standards.
Research and Professional Development : Plan and achieve research targets, stay updated with developments, and engage in professional growth activities.
Communication and Resource Management : Foster positive relationships, manage resources efficiently, and promote courses and programmes.
To be successful in this role you will have: Social Work Expertise : Recent practice experience, theoretical and practical knowledge of social work modalities, and registration (or potential for registration) as a Social Worker.
Teaching and Curriculum Development : Experience in tertiary-level teaching, curriculum development, and using educational technologies.
Professional Skills : Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and administrative skills, with the ability to plan, meet deadlines, and teach both online and face-to-face.
Cultural Competence : Commitment to a culturally sensitive environment, appreciation of Māori language and culture, and understanding of cultural issues.
Qualifications : Master’s level qualification or relevant professional experience, with a teaching qualification being advantageous.
