North Taranaki ITM is a member of New Zealand's largest group of Independent Timber, Hardware, & Building Supply Merchants. We're an established locally owned and operated company and pride ourselves on providing our customers with great service.
We're looking for two Timber Machinists - 1x Head Rig Operator, 1x Timber Machinist. Both these positions are permanent full time, Monday to Friday, at our sawmill in Inglewood, (New Plymouth), Taranaki.
Requirements for this role:
At least 3 years' work experience
Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background criminal check
Key responsibilities include:
Set up and calibrate saws to achieve precise cuts
Maximise production output and minimise wastage material
Continuous monitoring of the cutting process, making adjustments to ensure optimal performance and product quality
Loading of logs, checking alignment and position for accurate cutting
Inspection of logs & timber before and after cutting to ensure they meet quality standards
Strictly adhere to and foster compliance of all relevant company Health and Safety protocols
Monitoring of mill equipment and informing the mill manager of any required mill maintenance or damage observed
Fostering a culture of best practice and enthusiasm towards your work amongst your colleagues
Key and ideal attributes for the role are:
Good working knowledge of timber machinery
A degree or qualification industry related a bonus
Loader license a bonus
Basic computer skills and strong math ability
Excellent hand/eye coordination
Motivated to continuously improve and upskill all areas within your role
