Skillset Basketball is looking for Junior Coaches to join our team. This is a development role designed for those with no prior coaching experience — you’ll be supported, mentored, and given the tools to grow into a confident coach. What you’ll do
Teach basketball fundamentals through drills and games
Practice coaching under guidance from senior staff
Lead warm-ups and Hoop Club drills
Support young players in learning and skill development
Learn to explain the game and rules clearly
Shadow Senior Coaches in sessions and ask questions
Practice communication and projection to find your coaching voice
Begin developing your own coaching style
Assist with filming and reviewing sessions

Homework and reflection tasks to strengthen knowledge
Onboarding process covering policies and expectations
Police vetting to ensure child safety and wellbeing

Payment & Pathway
Junior Coaches receive a $10 travel allowance per session.
This is a training role with no prior coaching experience required.
Once ready, Junior Coaches can progress into paid Senior Coach positions, which start at $25–$30 per hour.
