The Role We’re looking for a Lead Product Designer who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and lead the charge on creating beautiful, intuitive user experiences that make life easier for tradespeople. You’ll lead and mentor a talented Product Designer, shape our design vision, and be hands-on crafting the end-to-end experience across our core web and mobile platforms. From discovery through to delivery, you’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering and the wider business to ensure we’re solving the right problems and delivering real value to our users. Whether it’s facilitating design workshops, building and evolving our Design System, conducting user research, or pushing pixels in Figma, you’ll have a big hand in shaping both how our product works—and how it feels. What We’re Looking For You’ve probably spent 7+ years in the world of Product Design, with a good chunk of that in Saa S and at least a couple of years leading or mentoring other designers. You love solving complex UX challenges and have a strong eye for both interaction and visual design. You’re comfortable switching between strategy and execution—whether you’re working on a big picture design vision, leading discovery sessions, or crafting a delightful microinteraction, you bring care and curiosity to the process. Here’s what else will help you hit the ground running: You’ve built and scaled Design Systems You’ve worked in cross-functional squads and know how to collaborate closely with engineers and PMs You’re data-informed, but human-centred—always advocating for the customer You know how to get design ideas in front of users fast, test, learn, and iterate You’re confident presenting work and aligning stakeholders at all levels Tools like Figma, In Vision, Framer, and even a bit of HTML/CSS are second nature to you And most importantly—you’re someone who’s excited by the opportunity to lead, grow, and shape the design culture at Fergus.
