Job Description Flexible on LocationPermanent Position and 12 Month Fixed Term Position availableSupport Flexible Working Mo tenei turangi mahi | About this roleThe Urban and Infrastructure Planning and Policy unit has team members across Aotearoa NZ, including in the Wellington office, Christchurch office and Auckland policy office. Essentially, we work on all things urban policy - including urban: planning, design, growth, housing, infrastructure and climate related urban issues. We work collaboratively with other agencies, especially with Te Tuapapa Kura Kainga - the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).The Senior Policy Analyst role we have available is in the Infrastructure and Growth team, which sits under the Urban and Infrastructure Planning and Policy Unit, but we work collaboratively and across the unit based on priorities and resourcing needs and to accommodate growth development opportunities for our people.In this role you will be working across infrastructure and growth policy, implementation and delivery. You will support the effective and efficient operation of infrastructure policy in the current RMA system as well as help shape and implement the new resource management system. In particular you will be providing policy advice, including monitoring and reporting, on how infrastructure is provided for through multiple policy areas, such as the evolving Natural and Built Environments Bill, National Policy Statement on Urban Development, Enabling Housing Supply legislation and Emissions Reduction Plan.This role offers a unique opportunity to work as part of a high performing, focussed unit to deliver and implement urban and infrastructure policy within the existing system and the future resource management system.Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experienceThis role would suit policy professionals who have: A good working knowledge of the RMAAn understanding of the role infrastructure plays to support growth and developmentGood policy development skills and experienceExcellent written and oral communication skillsAble to connect with partners and stakeholders and building relationshipsAbility to work across a number of work streams and to manage competing prioritiesComfort in working with ambiguity and adaptability to changing priorities and new and emerging issuesAnd are great team players.
