As a key member of our team, you'll provide our customers with exceptional service and ensure the safe, effective operation of our plants. As a Water / Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator, you will monitor and review the treatment plant process performance. You will be involved in work ranging from manual tasks to operating computerised treatment systems. Your duties will include: Carrying routine water treatment plant operational checks and adjustments to ensure drinking water compliance is achieved and the treatment of wastewater to meet consent and compliance conditions for discharge to the environment. Keeping adequate records and uploading task completion to an online database. Performing standard operating procedures and receiving chemicals. Assisting in the development and review of standard operating procedures. Participating in an out-of-hours callout roster providing emergency coverage for the water and wastewater treatment plants (typically involves night and weekend work one week every month). Travel within the Waikato District Area with vehicle (Ute) provided to attend operational tasks as per work plan. Troubleshoot and resolve plant issues and escalate as required. You'll need a sense of humour and a full driving license is required. A positive can-do attitude is a must. The successful candidate will also demonstrate: Experience in data analysis, plant processes, and report preparation. Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, asset databases, maintenance scheduling. A National Certificate and/or Diploma in Water or Wastewater Treatment would be beneficial. Technical or trades qualification in a Process, Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation discipline would be beneficial. Current full NZ driver's licence.
